Terms of service

These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and cv2spec. By creating an account, using the service, or buying credits, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 16 and legally able to enter this agreement. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must permit your use and authorise any payment. If you use cv2spec for an organisation, you confirm that you can bind that organisation to these terms.

cv2spec is a private workspace for creating truthful, role-targeted CVs and cover letters. You can save or upload a source CV, add career highlights and a job specification, generate drafts, request revisions, edit the documents, review coverage, approve a version, and download files.

The service assists with writing and organisation. It is not a recruiter, employment agency, legal adviser, or career adviser, and it does not submit applications on your behalf.

Provide accurate information and keep your Google or GitHub account, passkeys, two-factor authentication methods, and devices secure. Do not share an account or allow another person to use your authentication credentials.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it results from our failure to use reasonable care. Contact support@cv2spec.com promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

You retain your rights in the CVs, career information, job specifications, feedback, and other material you provide. You give cv2spec a limited permission to store, copy, process, and transmit that material only as needed to provide, secure, and support the service.

You confirm that you have the right to provide the content and that its use through cv2spec will not break the law or another person's rights. Do not upload confidential employer, client, or third-party information unless you have permission.

As between you and cv2spec, and to the extent the law permits, you may use the generated CVs and cover letters created from your content. Third-party rights can still apply to source material or output.

cv2spec uses artificial intelligence to analyse source material and create drafts. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, unsuitable, or similar to content produced for other people.

You must review every document before using it. Check names, employers, dates, qualifications, claims, contact details, and role requirements. Only approve and send content that is accurate and appropriate.

cv2spec does not guarantee that a document will pass an applicant tracking system, produce an interview, lead to an offer, or improve an employment outcome.

AI generation uses credits. The product shows the applicable credit cost before you perform a paid action. Current packs, prices, taxes, and payment terms are shown before checkout. Payments are completed through Stripe-hosted Checkout.

Credits are tied to your account, do not expire while cv2spec continues to operate them, and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash. We may correct a balance when there has been a refund, chargeback, duplicate credit, technical error, or fraud.

If generation fails before a usable draft is produced, cv2spec is designed to return the affected credit automatically. Contact support@cv2spec.com if the balance does not look right.

Refunds and cancellation rights depend on the circumstances and applicable consumer law. Nothing in these terms removes a right that the law does not allow us to exclude. Contact support with the account email and payment details, but never send full card information.

You must not use cv2spec to:

• Create false qualifications, experience, identity details, or other deceptive application material.
• Upload content you do not have permission to use or that infringes another person's rights.
• Break the law, discriminate unlawfully, harass, defraud, or harm another person.
• Probe, bypass, or interfere with security, rate limits, credit controls, authentication, or service availability.
• Introduce malware, automate abusive traffic, scrape the service, or reverse engineer protected parts of it except where law permits.
• Resell, sublicense, or provide shared access to cv2spec without written permission.

We aim to keep cv2spec available and reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance, security work, third-party failures, or events outside reasonable control may interrupt the service.

We may add, remove, or change features, supported file types, credit costs, limits, or providers. We will give reasonable notice when a material change negatively affects purchased credits or core account functions, where practicable.

cv2spec and its software, design, branding, documentation, and underlying technology belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service. They do not transfer ownership of the service itself.

If you send product feedback, you permit us to use it to improve and operate cv2spec without payment or an obligation to adopt it. This does not give us ownership of your CV or application content.

You are responsible for deciding whether a generated document is accurate and suitable, and for the applications you submit. To the fullest extent permitted by law, cv2spec is not responsible for employment decisions, lost opportunities, or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of a draft.

Where the law allows a financial limit, our total liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid to cv2spec in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any consumer right or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You may stop using cv2spec at any time and can delete your account from Profile settings. Account deletion permanently removes active account and application data, subject to limited backup, security, payment, and legal retention described in the Privacy Policy.

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or others, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, or respond to a material breach of these terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and give you a chance to resolve it.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep any mandatory rights and may be able to bring a claim in your local courts.

We may update these terms when the service, providers, pricing, or law changes. We will update the date at the top and provide additional notice before a material change takes effect where appropriate.
